The coming weekend, the interwetten-Racing-Team is going to start the World Series Saison 2009 at the Spanish Circuit de Cataluña near Barcelona on 18/19th April. With Adrian Zaugg and Mihai Marinescu, two promising drivers are going to start with their 3.5 litre bolides for the Austrian racing stable.
Adrian Zaugg is no stranger in international motor racing scene. Even in 2006 he drove a few races for the World Series by Renault. With the A1 Grand Prix, he collected his first experiences for his home country South Africa, which he expands since 2008. Next to the World Series by Renault, the 22 year old also starts at the A1 Grand Prix Series.
With the rookie Mihai Marinescu, manager Walter-Michael Schneider was able to bring another newcomer into the team. The Rumanian driver tested the car at Barcelona and did a good job. “He deserves our trust”, commented Schneider: “It is the first time for Mihai to drive such a strong car. He showed a great performance in Spain. We are aiming for top 10 placements within the World Series”, said the team manager. In 2007, the 20 year old started a few times within the World Series by Renault, that time in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. In 2008 he changed to Formula BMW Europe. “Marinescu is confirmed for the coming racing weekend. Afterwards we are going to decide who is going to drive the second car for the rest of the season”, Walter-Michael Schneider commented.
For interwetten as a main sponsor, the World Series season is definitely drawn by several high-lights. In the end, the Austrian team has two talented newcomers at the start. “Sponsoring and promotion of young talents is a very important matter for Interwetten. Basically, we carry out three principles: a clear vision, improvement of the sponsored driver in order to be successful in sports as well as a good partner ship”, the main sponsor and Interwetten-CEO Mag. Thomas Daubek pointed out. He cherishes great expectations in the coming season.
In time for the start of the season at Barcelona, the new web site of Interwetten-Racing is online.
